This week we started Gamifacation and for my first project I did a painting. At fist I had no idea what to do, so I just started painting a blue background. I didn't use one blue though, I used light blue and dark blues and it turned out amazing. That first night, I was reminded that Mother's Day was coming up. I thought to add something about love in the painting for my mom. I created tree branches in the shape of a heart. I was going to add flowers/blossoms to the branches but then I thought that would be weird because the tree is just a silhouette and if I added flowers it would look like a bunch of black blobs. Instead of flowers, I added two birds facing each other. I made one bird just a little bigger then the other to show a difference in gender for the love part. After I got the big picture, I grabbed a small brush and worked on the small details. Like the small tips of the branches and the beaks of the birds. My favorite part of this project was making the background because I got to see how to contract the different shades of blue. The birds were my least favorite part of this project. First the birds were the same height then they were to skinning. Next, I forgot the tail feathers for them, and it took almost 20 minutes just to get them the perfect size. If there was anything I could have done to improve, it would be to add more colors other then just blues and black. If I could have changed it, I would have added blossoms and the birds would have looked more detailed. I might have made the birds cardinals because cardinals are beautiful birds and they mean a lot to my family. |
